WMH Welcomes Hematology and Oncology Associates of NEPA
(Honesdale, September 23, 2019)…Wayne Memorial Hospital and Hematology and Oncology Associates of Northeastern Pennsylvania, PC, have agreed to partner to provide care to Wayne Memorial’s patients at the hospital, just a few months after its Infusion/Chemotherapy unit was renovated as a modern suite offering private and semi-private treatment areas.
“This is a coming home of sorts,” said Wayne Memorial CEO David Hoff, “as the same group provided services with us more than a decade ago. We welcome back their expertise and care. Hematology-Oncology Associates is a well-established practice, as is Wayne Memorial’s Infusion/Chemotherapy unit. We anticipate stability and continued success for our patients moving forward. We hope that our community will use these high quality professional and hospital services in Honesdale. Wayne Memorial is committed to providing needed hematology and oncology services to our patients”
Launched in 1971, the Dunmore-based Hematology and Oncology Associates offers a team of seven board-certified physicians familiar with the latest technology and treatments available. Hematology and Oncology Associates is recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, which provides a three- year accreditation to assure the group has met the highest-quality standards for cancer care.
The group’s physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants diagnose and treat blood diseases such as anemia and platelet disorders, along with cancer of the colon, lungs, bladder, breast, liver and other organs.
