(Honesdale, April 10, 2024)…. Brant Adomiak, a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) with a specialty in Pulmonary Nursing has joined Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Pulmonology Department. Adomiak, who will work closely with Sean McVeigh, MD, and Christina Cobb, FNP, diagnoses and treats pulmonary diseases, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease and COVID-19-related respiratory illnesses.
Adomiak comes to Wayne Memorial after close to five years employment as a Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner with Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
“I chose Wayne Memorial in part because of its size and location, small and rural. After talking with Dr. McVeigh and Tina (Cobb), it seemed like a perfect fit,” said Adomiak. “Plus, they have the same patient philosophy I do, which is to prioritize the patient. Do what’s best for them—the patient comes first.”
Adomiak received his Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Nursing from Wilkes University in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and then his Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Scranton. He is board-certified in Pennsylvania and lives in the Old Forge area of Lackawanna County.
Prior to Geisinger, Adomiak was employed at Prime Medical in Moosic and the former Community Medical Center in Scranton. Adomiak said he was drawn to Pulmonology after a stint in Occupational Health at Mid-State Occupational Health in Dunmore from 2015-2019.
“We did a lot of pulmonary work, such as Pulmonary Function Tests, along with chest imaging and work-related suturing of lacerations,” said Adomiak, “but I was really drawn to the pulmonology part of the job and decided that’s where I want to direct my future.”
In addition to pulmonology, Wayne Memorial offers physician services in general and interventional cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, general surgery, neurology and orthopaedic procedures.
