(Honesdale, PA, March 24, 2025)…March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in the U.S. and one of the top five cancers in northeastern Pennsylvania. Yet it’s highly preventable with screening.
Dr. Clifford Carrol, board-certified gastroenterologist at Wayne Memorial Hospital says it simply, “Screening saves lives.” A colonoscopy will reveal polyps that can be removed before developing into cancer.
The American Cancer Society recommends screenings begin at age 45 for average-risk adults. If you’re in this category and have never been screened, make an appointment today. Call 570-6161WMH or online at wmh.org It’s one of our most powerful tools against colorectal cancer.
