WMH Celebrates Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

(Honesdale PA, April 24, 2025)…It’s Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (Lab Week), April 20-26,2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH). This national recognition is a time to celebrate medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in health care and patient advocacy. This year’s theme is “Mystery Machine of Diagnostics: Another Case Solved by the Lab.” It emphasizes the work of laboratory professionals who focus on leveraging diagnostic tests performed on the body’s blood, urine, or tissue samples to obtain critical data used to identify diseases, infections and disorders.

Data from medical laboratory tests provide critical insights at every stage of care, from screening and diagnosis to treatment and successful health management. “They went all out with the theme this year but our team is serious, precise, and accurate,” Lab Manager John Romano explained. “I am very proud of them, and I appreciate their dedication,” he added. During Lab Week and every week, we thank WMH’s professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure accurate test results and the best possible care for patients.
