WMH Auxiliary Garden Tour

(Honesdale, June 5, 2024)… You’re invited!  The owners of  seven “beautiful local gardens in full bloom” will welcome visitors on Saturday, July 20th for the benefit of the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  The self-guided tour, from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm, will begin at the Chamber of Commerce, 32 Commercial Street, in Honesdale, where attendees can pick up a map and program. Tickets are $20 at the door, $15 in advance.   “We are very pleased that so many gardeners agreed to showcase their flowers, trees and landscapes,” said Martha Wilson, Auxilian and co-chair of the Garden Tour, “and we anticipate all of them will be on hand to greet visitors and answer questions.”

Wilson said all the gardens, located in Honesdale, Prompton, Equinunk and Narrowsburg, are new to the event and were not part of the Auxiliary’s first Garden Tour in 2022.

Proceeds from the Garden Tour will help the all-volunteer Auxiliary meet ongoing needs of Wayne Memorial Hospital and Health System. The Auxiliary recently completed its $600,000 pledge to the hospital’s Second Century Fund, which was set up to help recruit qualified physicians. Wayne Memorial now offers physician services in gastroenterology, general and interventional cardiology, nephrology, neurology, pulmonology, orthopaedics, general surgery and, most recently, urology/uro-gynecology.

Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling Margie at (631) 432-6364 or at the following locations: the Wayne Memorial Hospital Gift Box; FNCB Bank, 1001 Main Street, Honesdale; The Dime Bank, 820 Church Street, Honesdale; and the Other Shops—1036 Main Street, Honesdale, and 310 Main Avenue, Hawley.

The rain date is July 21st.
