WMH and WMCHC Support Medical Advocacy Conference

(Honesdale, PA, January 27, 2025)…Wayne Memorial Hospital and Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers have joined together in sponsoring the 3rd annual NEPA Medical Advocacy Conference on April 9th 2025 at Marywood University, a collaboration between WRC in Scranton and Victims’ Intervention Program (VIP) in Honesdale. The partnership brings together healthcare providers and community agencies to support victims and survivors of abuse with critical resources and information.

This year’s conference theme is Empowering Voices: Bridging Gaps in Healthcare Around Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault & Human Trafficking. “We’re very excited to have Wayne Memorial Hospital and Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers join us for the 3rd annual conference,” Ericka Thaxton of VIP stated.

Healthcare settings have become crucial points of intervention for victims. Bridging the gap between victim advocacy and the healthcare system creates better outcomes and health equity for victims of violence and abuse. WRC (Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties) and VIP (Wayne and Pike Counties) provide free and confidential services to assist and support victims of abuse.
