Wayne Memorial Dental Services Postponing Non-emergent Care

(Honesdale, March 18, 2020)…. Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) announced that effective March 19th both the Together for Health Dental Center in Honesdale and Pike Dental Center in Lords Valley will be postponing non-emergent care for a three-week period. These measures have been recommended by the American Dental Association to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.  Officials at WMCHC plan to adhere to the three-week timeframe unless guidance changes to either extend or shorten it.

According to Dental Office Manager Nichole Yannone the decision was two-fold, “This precaution will help protect our dental professionals from contracting or transmitting Novel Coronavirus while performing routine dental procedures and allows us to concentrate on emergency dental care to alleviate the burden these cases would place on hospital emergency departments.”

Patients with appointments scheduled for routine procedures have been notified and rescheduled. If you feel you are experiencing a dental emergency, call the Together for Health Dental Center at 570-251-6534 or Pike Dental Center at 570-775-7818 to speak to a dental professional for advice and potential treatment.
