Primary Care Doctor Joins Highland Physicians Family Health Center

Highland Physicians Family Health Center, part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), is pleased to announce internal medicine physician, Ramesh Pandit, MD, MPH, began seeing adult patients at its Honesdale office located at 1839 Fair Avenue as of October 1st

“Highland remains the largest of our primary care offices,” stated Frederick Jackson, executive director. “The need to add another physician to that practice was evident and we are grateful to have Dr. Pandit as the one to fill the position.”

Dr. Pandit completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, PA. He earned his medical degree from B.J. Medical College in Pune, India. Additionally, Dr. Pandit earned a Master of Public Health degree from The State University of New York, Buffalo.

With a strong emphasis on preventive medicine as well as a background in Epidemiology, Dr. Pandit plans to “incorporate medical research in day-to-day practice with individual patients.” Dr. Pandit says his experience during residency training at the Pike Family Health Center, which is also part of WMCHC, helped him decide to further his career with a Wayne Memorial managed office, “I appreciated the warm and patient-focused approach,” he stated, “I wanted to be part of WMCHC after graduation.”

Dr. Pandit and his wife, Trupti Pandit, MD, a pediatrician at Honesdale Pediatric Center, reside in Honesdale with their son.
