(Honesdale, February 19, 2021)… Lake Region Urgent Care (LRUC) & Occupational Medicine, part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), is offering local businesses a service to help manage their response to employee COVID-19 exposures.
Richard Hacker, MD, medical director, LRUC, says choosing to partner with Lake Region will be advantageous for the well-being of both employee and employer, “there is a strain placed on businesses while employees are searching for their own test results,” he stated. “We’re still in a pandemic and testing is the key to controlling it.”
The program, implemented through the occupational medicine side of the practice, includes on-site COVID testing, result tracking and guidance on the quarantine process.
According to LRUC Practice Manager James Panto, RN, “Our goal is to assist businesses of any size in getting their staff back to work as soon as possible.”
Response time to set up testing, which will be conducted at the workplace for employee convenience, ranges from same day to within 24, 48 or 72 hours following initial contact with LRUC. While the cost of a COVID test itself is covered through government funding in most cases, WMCHC charges administrative fees based on the type of test administered, number of employees tested and service response time.
