Occupational Therapy Month 2025 at WMH

(Honesdale, Pa., April 15, 2025)…April is Occupational Therapy Month in recognition of the important and meaningful difference it makes in the lives of so many people. Occupational therapy (OT) is a science-driven, evidence-based profession that enables people to perform activities of daily living or live better with injury, illness, or disability.

Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) provides OT to adult patients of all ages in various settings; acute in room care for patients in the hospital, those medically prescribed to our In-patient Rehab Center and out-patient at the Route 6 Plaza in Honesdale.“Our team of therapists and assistants have helped an abundance of patients with diverse needs and levels of ability. That includes maintaining or rebuilding a patient’s independence and helping them function at the highest possible level,” said Ancillary Services Chief Jim Hockenbury. “They truly improve lives.”
