New Location for Wayne Memorial Community Blood Drives

(Honesdale, September 26, 2017)… Due to construction at its main campus, Wayne Memorial Hospital has partnered with Wayne County officials to offer its Red Cross-administered blood drives at the nearby Park Street Complex instead. The complex is located at 648 Park Street, approximately 1/3 of a mile west of the hospital. The community blood drives, offered about six times annually, are open to the public.

Upcoming dates are: Wednesday, October 18 and Wednesday, December 13 of this year and Wednesday, February 21 and Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Donors are welcome 11am to 4pm.

“The county has assured security and maintenance for the premises, and we are very grateful to them,” said Lisa Champeau, Public Relations manager for Wayne Memorial Hospital, “especially to Sheriff Mark Steelman and Chief Clerk Vicky Botjer for working to make sure these important blood drives take place close to the hospital so our employees can conveniently donate as well.”

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged. For an appointment, please visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code Wayne Memorial or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

More than 4.5 million Americans would die each year without life-saving blood transfusions, according to the Red Cross. Just one pint of donated blood can help save as many as three lives.
