Mobile Testing Sites Alternate Days

(Honesdale, July 1, 2020)…Due to increased demand,  Wayne Memorial Hospital announced today that as of Monday, July 6th, COVID-19 testing at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Honesdale would be available Monday- Wednesday-Friday and at the Pike County Training Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both will operate from 8am – 4pm. The sites essentially flipped days due primarily to an increase in service volumes, particularly surgeries and admissions, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. The hospital resumed non-urgent surgical procedures in May, after the number of COVID-19 cases decreased significantly. Wayne Memorial has implemented many safety protocols to help prevent the spread of the virus, including testing all patients scheduled for surgery or hospital admission.

Patients will still need a prescription to be tested at either mobile site. The hospital has processed more than 1,000 tests at both sites since March.
