First Baby of Dairy Month at Wayne Memorial

(Honesdale, June 4, 2018)…Scarlett Keller’s mom was thrilled to receive a basket of goodies from Wayne County Dairy Princess Allison Hardler at Wayne Memorial Hospital today. The basket, delivered to the family of the first baby born in June, Dairy Month, included cheese sticks—and mom Christine loves cheese sticks! Little Scarlett, who arrived on June 3rd with the help of obstetrician/gynecologist Thomas O’Brien of Women’s Health, weighed in at 6 lbs., 2.7 oz.  She is the daughter of Christine Romano, Throop, who is employed in the Wayne Memorial Hospital Laboratory, and Bobby Keller. The basket also included baby items such as a tiny pair of shoes and other assorted dairy products.  Wayne County ranks fifth in the country for milk sales, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Most farms are family or individually owned. Photo left to right: Joan Schweighofer, Wayne County Dairy Promotion; Toni Toigo, RN; Christine Romano with baby Scarlett; Princess Allison Hardler.
