Dr. Michael Campbell Elected Distinguished Fellow by APA

Honesdale, PA (May 16, 2024) —Michael Campbell, MD, FAPA, FAAFP, DABAM, medical director, Behavioral Health, Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), has been elected a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Campbell was notified by the APA Board of Trustees that his new status became effective January, 2024. He recently attended the APA’s Annual Meeting at the Javits Center in New York City where he received a medallion, certificate and lapel pin during the 68th Convocation of Distinguished Fellows.

According to Saul Levin, MD, PA, FRCP-E, FRCPsych, CEO and Medical Director of the APM, Dr. Campbell has “joined an elite group of psychiatrists with this honorary distinction who continue to make significant contributions to the field of psychiatry.”  It was further noted that this honor often goes only to academic psychiatrists.

Dr. Campbell has served as the Behavioral Health Medical Director of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers since 2012. He treats patients and oversees a multi-disciplinary team providing psychiatric evaluation and consultation, medical management and counseling as well as Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders.
