COVID Success Story Two Days Before Christmas

(Honesdale, December 23, 2021)…Just two days before Christmas, 54-year-old Christopher Blynn was discharged from Wayne Memorial Hospital after what his caregivers describe as a truly life-threatening battle against COVID-19.  The Greentown, Pike County, man was admitted on December 5th and intubated on December 7th. Ten days later, he was extubated and the climb back began. His nurse, Linda Cherico, said “I have treated many COVID patients, and surviving intubation is a difficult road. Christopher has done very well— it’s wonderful to see.” Blynn was wheeled out of the hospital but got up on his own at the curb and walked into his friend’s car. “The care here was excellent,” he said, “I even gained a little weight.”  Photo: Christopher Blynn, pushed in a wheelchair by Linda Cherico, RN, gives a thumbs up to healthcare workers and visitors applauding his success against COVID as he was discharged from Wayne Memorial Hospital.
