Honesdale Surgical Associates Welcomes Sean Yuan, MD

Honesdale, PA (April 26, 2017) — Honesdale Surgical Associates, a specialty practice of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), welcomes Board Certified Surgeon Sean Yuan, MD, FACS, to its staff. Dr. Yuan will be the practice’s third surgeon joining Louis D’Oro, MD, FACS and Lisa Medvetz, MD, FACS.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Yuan performs a broad spectrum of procedures at Wayne Memorial Hospital with a focus on laparoscopic procedures, such as laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia repair, hiatal hernia repair for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux, which is also known as GERD, and laparoscopic colon resection. Plans to offer surgical weight loss management at the Honesdale facility are also being discussed.

“Dr. Yuan comes to us with years of experience in minimally invasive surgery,” stated Frederick Jackson, executive director, WMCHC. “The possibility of broadening the scope of surgical intervention and less painful procedures we can offer right here in Honesdale is very exciting.”

Dr. Yuan earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Beijing Medical University. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby Pennsylvania. Additionally, he completed fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. Dr.Yuan’s employment history includes general and bariatric surgery at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
