WMH Interns, Next Generation of Hospital Administrators

(Honesdale, PA, January 16, 2025) …As January comes to a close, we proudly celebrate our two interns, Father Dominic Sabi and Vikrant Yadav, from the University of Scranton who have completed their residency in hospital administration at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Under the guidance of CEO Jim Pettinato, BSN, MHSA, CCRN-K these dedicated students have made a significant impact during their time here. Their hard work and innovative ideas have not only enriched their own learning experiences but have also contributed positively to the hospital’s operations.

Throughout their time at Wayne Memorial, Vikrant and Father Dominic tackled improving hospital operations and patient experiences. Their final project focused on streamlining workforce management. As a key outcome, they developed a tool that significantly reduces the time required for managers to identify vacant positions and monitor the utilization of personnel. This user-friendly solution enhances efficiency by providing managers with a clear and accessible way to track and manage staffing data effectively.

Through their enthusiasm and commitment to excellence the students have left a mark, one which the hospital hopes to see long-term benefits. “These young professionals have brought fresh perspectives and invaluable energy to our team,” stated Pettinato. “Their contributions will leave a lasting legacy at Wayne Memorial, and we are excited to see how they will continue to grow in their careers.” The staff of Wayne Memorial wishes them all the best in their future endeavors and continued success in the healthcare field as they prepare to graduate.
