Waymart Family Health Center Reopens with New Providers Dr. T.J. Luma and Marci Kowalewski, PA-C
(Honesdale, PA (January 21, 2021) — It was a grand re-opening in more ways than one! On January 20th, the Waymart Family Health Center, part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), re-opened after a four-year hiatus. And patients who had been seeing Certified Physician Assistant Marci Kowalewski are now able to re-establish with her after her prior office closed. Kowalewski is joined at the Waymart office, 29 Woodlands Drive, by T.J. Luma, MD who will also continue to see patients at the Carbondale Family Health Center.
Both Dr. Luma, a board-certified family physician, and Kowalewski see patients of all ages. Kowalewski, whose experience in the area spans 25 years, was most recently employed by Commonwealth Health Physician Network, which closed its Waymart office on December 11th.
Patients seeking to make an appointment with either provider may call 570-647-0523. To expedite the transfer of medical records, please call the office or visit wmchc.net and go to the Waymart Family Health Center page to obtain a Release of Medical Records Form.
The physical location where she sees patients may have changed, however, Kowalewski vows to offer the same quality care, “I, along with office staff that have worked with me for years, are eager to reconnect with our patients,” she stated. “Working with a community-run, non-profit organization is an added benefit to those who rely on us for care.”
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, WMCHC accepts most commercial insurances, managed care plans, Medicare and Medical Assistance. A sliding fee schedule is offered to patients meeting financial requirements. For more information about all of the services offered by WMCHC, visit wmchc.net.
