WMH’s First Baby of 2021 is here!

(Honesdale, January 1, 2021)… Wayne Memorial Hospital’s first baby of 2021 is little Carter Schariest, born to Kayla and Steven Schariest of Hawley. Carter entered the world at 5:50am, weighing 7 lbs, 7.5 oz and stretching out to 20.5” long. His parents were thrilled to have the hospital’s very first New Year’s baby—“it’s exciting!” said Kayla. The delivering provider was Thomas O’Brien, MD, from the Women’s Health Center, Honesdale, part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers. New Beginnings Birthing Suites staff gave the family a basket of goodies to celebrate Carter’s arrival. Carter joins big brother Parker, age 2, at home.
