Sports-Medicine-Trained Orthopedic Surgeon Joins WMH

(Honesdale, December 15,  2020)… Keith Cordischi, DO, an orthopedic surgeon, will join fellow orthopedists David Caucci, MD and Jeffrey Mogerman, MD, on the Wayne Memorial Hospital staff this January. Dr. Cordischi completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester.  In his practice, he places an emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of sports-related injuries, maladies of the shoulder and knee and general orthopedic trauma, with a surgical emphasis on arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder.

“Although I treat a variety of orthopedic injuries, my training has afforded me both knowledge and extensive experience in the treatment of disorders especially of the shoulder and knee,” said Dr. Cordischi. “I look forward to working with the patients of this community and with my colleagues at Wayne Memorial.”

Dr. Cordischi is a graduate of the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine, class of 2000.  He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania where he finished rotations in several subspecialties including sports medicine, joint replacement surgery, pediatric orthopedics and orthopedic trauma.  Prior to his medical training, Dr. Cordischi earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physiology and a Master’s degree in Applied Anatomy and Physiology from Boston University.

Since 2013, Dr. Cordischi has worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical center in Lebanon, where he was instrumental in bringing biologic treatment (PRP injection therapy) to the veteran population.

After buying a second home a few years ago in Jeffersonville, just over the New York line in Sullivan County,  Dr. Cordischi, his wife and four children grew to love the area enough to want to relocate.

“We found the upper Delaware River region incredibly beautiful and welcoming,” said Dr. Cordischi.  “The area is so inviting and has so much to offer, that we decided to finally move to this area.  It was a unanimous family decision.”
