WMH Auxiliary’s Love Lites Invites You to Honor a Loved One

(Honesdale, November 16, 2020)…The Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s 2020 Love Lites ceremony will take place at 6:30pm on December 7^th at the hospital, 601 Park Street, Honesdale. Lights will be lit on trees outside the main entrance, each one symbolically honoring or remembering a loved one. The community is invited to participate in the program by filling out a coupon and sending in a suggested donation of $5 for each loved one named. The coupons can be found at the hospital information desk in the main lobby or on the hospital’s website, www.wmh.org.

The outdoor ceremony will include a blessing of the Memory Book, which contains the names of loved ones, as well as live music performed by members of the St. Tikhon’s Seminary Choir and the Honesdale High School Chorus. This year’s program will also include a few moments to reflect upon the lives of those lost on the same day in 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. “Grab and go” refreshments will be offered following the ceremony.

The Memory Book will be on display in the hospital lobby from December 7^th until January 8^th, 2021. It will also be posted on the hospital’s website.

Love Lites has been a consistently popular fundraiser for the hospital Auxiliary since it was first launched in 1991. This year, due to the pandemic, it is also one of the few events that has not had to be cancelled or rescheduled. Auxiliary members say Love Lites is a very special event and they are appreciative of the community’s ongoing support.
