Saturday Hours at Carbondale and Pike Family Health Centers
Honesdale, PA (July 21, 2020) – To improve access to outpatient primary care and offer patients the convenience of seeing their provider on a Saturday, Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) expanded hours at its Carbondale facility as well as reinstituted limited Saturday hours at its health center located in Lords Valley.
Starting Saturday, August 1st the Carbondale Family Health Center located at 141 Salem Avenue will be open the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9 am to 2 pm. The Pike Family Health Center, 750 Route 739, Lords Valley had been open every Saturday, however, curtailed hours in March due to COVID-19. The Center restarted limited Saturday availability on July 11th. Pike Family will be open the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 9 am to 3 pm moving forward.
According to WMCHC Practice Manager Wynter Newman, who oversees both centers, “we ask patients to call ahead–even the same-day they wish to be seen. Our staff will then offer them the most convenient appointment available.”

“July 11th was the first Saturday we have been open in months and I’m happy to say it was a productive day,” stated Christine Bouchard, office supervisor, Pike Family Health Center. “We’re looking forward to the same on July 25th and moving forward. Our patients are ready to return to some normalcy and we’re prepared to offer it.”
All WMCHC office sites are taking extra precautions to provide the safest environment in which to receive care during the COVID-19 outbreak. Screening questions are asked prior to and upon arrival to appointments. Staff and patient masking is required. Social distancing is practiced in our waiting rooms and exam rooms are cleaned between patients more thoroughly than ever before.
