It would appear that Mother Nature was quite pleased by the return to the 4th Saturday of September as the date for the 5th annual Harry D. Propst Sporting Clays Invitational. If you will recall, in 2011, to accommodate conflicting schedules and a number of family celebrations, our event was held on the first Saturday of October. Although it was overcast and cool, Mother Nature demonstrated her approval of the return to the original date by delaying the arrival of showers until after the last guests had departed at approximately 3:00 p.m. The 129 shooters and 50 volunteers fared better than their golfer counterparts, who participated in the Harry Kiesendahl Memorial Golf Tournament at the end of August, when play was suspended as a result of heavy showers, for the second year in a row.
