First Day for Umpy’s at Wayne Health Pharmacy & Medical Equipment
“We do a lot of delivery business with the hospital,” said Umpy’s owner Cheryl Batcher, “and if this makes it more convenient for them, we’re all for it.” Batcher said this was the first “satellite” business for her restaurant, which opened on Main Street in Honesdale in 2011.
The Stourbridge Professional Complex, located about one mile west of Wayne Memorial Hospital, is home to the Pharmacy, Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Business Office, Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation Services, Wayne Memorial Home Health & Hospice, Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers’ corporate office, the Honesdale Family Health Center, The Together for Health Dental Center, Behavioral Health and several private physician and commercial offices.
Wayne Health Pharmacy & Medical Equipment offers prescription services, the convenience of a drive through as well as over-the-counter medications and a complete line of home medical supplies, including home oxygen services, braces, CPAP equipment, lift chairs and wheelchairs, crutches and much more.
Minutes after Batcher stocked the on-site refrigerator, five hospital employees showed up to check it out. “We couldn’t wait for this to open,” said Joni Wendrick, “it’s great, and we didn’t have to leave the premises!”
The Camp Umpy’s Grab & Go fridge will be open Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm. Wayne Health Pharmacy & Medical Equipment is also open Saturdays from 9am – 1pm. The phone number is (570) 253-6770. The retail store is operated by Wayne Health Services, a subsidiary of Wayne Memorial Health Foundation.
