Northern Wayne Family Health Center Donates to Lakewood Food Pantry
The food pantry experienced a short-fall of funds necessary to cover all 50 of its registered families with a proper Thanksgiving feast. Along with the Altar and Rosary Society of Saint Catherine Drexel Church, which will be donating turkeys for the families, WMCHC offered to cover the remaining cost needed to supply full holiday meals. Staff members of all WMCHC offices, located throughout Wayne, Susquehanna and Pike Counties, have also been asked to contribute non-perishable food items as a system-wide donation to the food pantry.
Northern Wayne Family Health Center will be holding a “Thanksgiving Health Fair to Our Community” on November 20, from 1 pm to 3 pm, to coincide with the Thanksgiving food distribution day. The health fair will feature screenings, nutritional information and a vaccine clinic. Vaccine clinic for Shingles Shots require precertification, call 570-798-2828. The public is invited to attend.
