General/Vascular Surgeon Joins Staff of Wayne Memorial Hospital
Dr. Guerrero, a resident of Milford, decided to join WMCHC as a means of growing his practice. “Wayne Memorial Hospital is expanding all departments including wound care,” he stated. However, remaining within his own community was also important, “by staying local I can continue to treat patients living in Pike County.”
Dr. Guerrero received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY and performed his residency in general surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He completed a vascular surgical fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Brown Mills, NJ. Dr. Guerrero was most recently affiliated with Bon Secours Charity Medical Group, a multi-specialty group practice located in Port Jervis, NY. In addition to performing general and vascular surgery at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Dr. Guerrero also served as the hospital’s Wound Clinic Director. He lives in Milford with his wife, Claudia and their two children.
Wayne Memorial Hospital is pleased to have the skills of two vascular surgeons available to its patients. J. Garry Wrobleski, Jr., D.O., F.A.C.O.S., general and vascular surgeon at United Surgical Associates, PC, in Carbondale joined the hospital’s courtesy staff in February of this year.
“With our increasing patient base Wayne Memorial will be well-served by the addition of a new surgeon,” said David Hoff, Wayne Memorial’s chief executive officer. “For a facility of our size, we are proud of the range of surgical specialties we offer including orthopaedic, vascular, gynecological, ENT, urology and neurosurgery.”
Dr. Guerrero will be partnering with Brian Lenczewski, MD, who has been providing general surgical services at Wayne Memorial Hospital for the past three years. In addition to general and vascular surgical coverage, Dr. Guerrero will see patients in The Regional Wound Care Center and The Hyperbaric Center both located within the hospital’s main building on Park Street in Honesdale.
Surgical care is one of the specialty services provided by WMCHC, a federally qualified health center clinically affiliated with Wayne Memorial Health System, Inc. WMCHC also offers primary care, women’s health care, pediatric services, dental care, pulmonology and behavioral health services at satellite offices located in Wayne, Pike and Lackawanna Counties.
