(Honesdale, December 20, 2006)…Wayne Memorial’s Medical Staff met the Hospital’s newest physicians this week, three hospitalists or “inpatient physicians.” All three are internal medicine physicians. Starting January 1, they will care for adult patients whose primary care doctors refer them for admission to Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH).

(Honesdale, December 15, 2006)… Wayne Memorial Hospital will ring in the new year with a new option for patient care. On January 1, 2007, three hospitalist physicians, or “inpatient doctors” will join the hospital’s medical staff. All three are internal medicine physicians who will attend only to hospitalized patients.

(Honesdale, December 12, 2006)… Wayne Memorial Hospital has joined Scranton hospitals Mercy, Community Medical Center, Moses Taylor and seven other northeast Pennsylvania medical centers in adopting the same color patient wristbands for the same “at risk” conditions. For example, a yellow wristband now means “Fall Risk” at all the medical facilities.

(Honesdale, December 7, 2006)… Wayne Memorial’s Home Health Department will offer a flu clinic, open to all adults, on Wednesday, December 13, at the Wayne Memorial Medical & Professional Complex at the Stourbridge Mall on Maple Avenue and Route 6—about ½ mile west of the Hospital. Each light will be lit in honor or in memory of a cherished love one during the holiday season. (Honesdale, November1, 2006) …A changing of the guard took place at Wayne Memorial Health System/Wayne Memorial Hospital on October 25th. Board of Trustees Chairman Peter Rodgers stepped down and 1st Vice Chair Helge Mortensen assumed the top post. Rodgers, who said he was leaving for personal business reasons, called his tenure “a great run.” He had served on Wayne Memorial boards since 1996.
